# SEO for hypnosis schools: enrolments that come from your website, session after session.

The search “hypnosis training” mixes everything up: weekend workshops, video courses, stage hypnosis and long professional courses. Your school ends up in the middle, against directories, comparison sites, national schools and lots of paid ads. The future practitioner takes their time: they're committing several thousand euros and want to know who they're trusting it to. This market is competitive, and full SEO work has its place here for an already well-organised school. I make your website readable for that person: which course, for whom, where, at what price, with which qualification at the end.

## What is SEO for a hypnosis school?

SEO for a hypnosis school is the set of actions that make your courses appear on Google, on the map and in AI answers when someone wants to learn hypnosis to make it their work. It relies on one page per training level, an up-to-date Google Business Profile for each teaching venue and accurate wording about the profession and the qualification. Its results show in enrolments on introductory workshops and full courses.

The problem

## What makes SEO tricky for a hypnosis school.

Symptom 1

### A search where four audiences overlap

Someone typing “hypnosis training” may want to put on a show, take a self-hypnosis workshop, add to their current profession or change career. Google shows a bit of everything. If your page doesn't say from the first line that it's aimed at future practitioners, it convinces neither Google nor the reader.

Symptom 2

### National schools and online courses everywhere

School networks have a page per big city and large ad budgets. Video courses advertise quick learning for a small price. You won't win on their ground. You can win on yours: your town, your trainers, the way you supervise practice.

Symptom 3

### A topic Google keeps an eye on

In the public's mind, hypnosis touches on health. Google asks these pages for more signs of trust than it does of an ordinary shop. A website piling up promises loses places. A precise, signed and dated website gains from it.

An audit, for real

## What a hypnosis school's website shows in thirty seconds.

The site below doesn't exist, but its flaws do: they're the five I spot most often. Hover over a number.

**Fig. 2.** Fictional site, reconstructed. Any resemblance to yours would be a good reason to call me.

1. *1***No town, and the word “Home”**The title says neither where you teach nor who for. “Hypnosis training in Angoulême: introduction and practitioner course” answers the search of a future student in your area.
2. *2***A calendar with no link to the courses**The dates are in a separate section. The reader has to make the connection themselves. Each level page must show its own dates.
3. *3***“Welcome to the academy”**The sentence would suit a dance or music school. It doesn't say you train practitioners. Announce the course, its length and its audience.
4. *4***A black-and-white spiral**The image points to stage hypnosis. A photo of students doing an exercise in your room says straight away what it's about.
5. *5***“Level 1”, “Level 2”, “Masterclass”**These names are only clear to your current students. Write what each level contains, its length in hours and what must be completed beforehand.

What your customers type

## What someone who wants to learn hypnosis types.

The six searches below are plausible examples for a school that trains practitioners. The audit gives the real list for your towns, with the volumes.

*1*“hypnosis training” followed by a town
: The town name rules out online courses and shows. What's left are the schools that teach locally, and the Google map often shows at the top. Your profile and your town page must give the address, the next dates and the level concerned.

*2*“become a hypnotherapist”
: That's the word people type, even if you prefer to say “hypnosis practitioner”. The page that answers it explains the training path and the reality of setting up in practice. It specifies what the word covers and what it doesn't, without promising anything about future business.

*3*“hypnosis training introduction” or “taster workshop”
: Many students start with a short first module before committing to the course. That module has its own page, with its programme, dates and price. It states what it allows you to do afterwards and what it doesn't.

*4*“hypnosis training online or in person”
: The reader wants to know whether you can learn to lead a session in front of a screen. Give your answer, with reasons: exercises done in pairs, supervision, the number of hours of supervised practice. If part of your course is remote, say which part.

*5*“hypnosis training price” and “funding”
: The price of a full course is compared from one school to another, module by module. A clear table on your website avoids misunderstandings. For funding, the page only mentions the current schemes you accept and the certification required to access them, if you hold it.

*6*The name of the school or the trainer followed by “reviews”
: In this field, people often choose a trainer as much as a school. The future student searches for their name, their background, videos, feedback from former students. All of this must be on your website and your profile, not just on social media.

What works

## The five levers of a hypnosis school.

Lever 1

### One page per level, from introduction to full course

Each level answers a different search and a different moment in the decision. Each one has its page: prerequisites, content, hours of practice, assessment, dates, fees. A simple diagram shows how the levels follow on and the total cost of the path.

Lever 2

### The Google Business Profile of each training venue

On a search with a town name, the map often comes before websites. I complete your profile: the category that matches a school, session times, photos of the room, announced dates, replies to reviews. One profile per real venue, never for an address where you don't teach.

Lever 3

### Trainers presented in detail

Their page gives their background, their years of practice, the levels they teach and their publications if they have any. Google and AI look for who is speaking on a website that touches these topics. An identified team inspires more trust than a school that names nobody.

Lever 4

### Accurate wording about the practice, the profession and the qualification

Your courses prepare people for a profession that isn't regulated. The page attributes no medical effect to hypnosis, announces no client base on completion and describes the real recognition of your qualification without embellishing it. Google and AI look closely at these three points. They're how an attentive reader recognises a serious school.

Lever 5

### Content that shows the teaching

A filmed excerpt of a class, how a day runs, an exercise explained step by step: these pages attract people who want to learn, not the merely curious. They point to the entry level and the next information evening.

What costs dearly

## Mistakes I spot on hypnosis school websites.

Mistake 1

### Listing disorders hypnosis supposedly makes disappear

These lists come from practice websites and end up on school ones. A school describes what it teaches. It has no business claiming a health outcome, and I remove these passages with you.

Mistake 2

### Selling quick set-up in practice

Announcing a practice opening in the short term brings in fragile enrolments and, later, harsh reviews. Write what the course covers about setting up in practice and let the reader judge.

Mistake 3

### Stacking up logos and labels

A row of logos at the bottom of the page proves nothing if the reader doesn't know what they mean. Every affiliation or label shown must be accurate, up to date and explained in one sentence. If in doubt, remove it.

Mistake 4

### A single “Our courses” page for every town

If you teach in three towns, one shared page ranks in none of them. The dates get mixed up, and the reader doesn't know which group they would join.

The method

## What I put in place for a hypnosis school.

The work happens in four phases, in the order in which a future student discovers your school.

1. **The map.** I tidy up the Google Business Profile of each teaching venue: category, photos, dates, reviews.
2. **The levels.** I create or rewrite one page per level, with the full path and its cost.
3. **The people.** I write each trainer's page with them, and I reread the whole website on the practice, the profession and the qualification.
4. **Enrolments.** Every month I record enrolments on the entry level and on the full course, town by town.

One-minute test

Five frank questions to find out whether support makes sense in your situation. Sometimes the answer is no, and I'll tell you.

Close to home

## Teaching hypnosis in Charente.

A hypnosis school based in Angoulême, Cognac or a town of similar size speaks first to people who live within driving distance. For residents of the département, you can be the school where they practise in a room without taking the train. Google still needs to know this, through your profile and a page for each workshop venue. I co-founded my agency, Newp, near Cognac, I know the département, and we can meet there.

### Angoulême: appearing on the map

When someone types “hypnosis training Angoulême”, Google shows a map with three businesses. It picks them based on the category, the address and what's written on each profile. A complete school profile, with the right category and your workshop dates, gives it what it needs to place you there.

### Cognac and small towns: an introduction close to home

People choose a first introductory weekend close to where they live. If you run one in Cognac or elsewhere in the département, give it a page with the place, the date and the trainer. It's often through this workshop that a future student discovers your school.

### Against video courses: supervised practice

An online course puts nobody in front of the student. Your page describes what happens in your room: exercises in pairs, the trainer observing, the corrections. Write how many hours of supervised practice each level contains. The reader looks for that figure before enrolling.

Beyond Google

## What AI changes for a hypnosis school.

The questions people ask AI about hypnosis are long and personal. For example: “I'm a youth worker, I'd like to train in hypnosis to change career, without leaving my job straight away. Where do I start in Charente?”. The AI answers cautiously. It reminds people what to check about a school, and it mainly names those whose offer it can describe.

To be described, your school must give facts a machine can pick up: the levels, the hours, the dates, the towns, the trainers' names, what the student receives at the end. AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Mistral are wary of pages that promise health or career results. On this topic, the restraint of your texts works in your favour.

Question asked to an AII'd like to train in hypnosis to make it my work, without leaving my job straight away. Where do I start in Charente?

Answer

Three options, to compare on hours of practice and the qualification awarded:

1. **Our client**— a hypnosis school in Angoulême: introductory weekend then a practitioner course in levels, hours of supervised practice specified, dates and fees for each level online, trainers introduced, no promises about future business.
2. — a video course, unlimited access, no supervised practice stated.
3. — a national network, sessions in several big cities, programme summed up in a few lines.

Three typical cases

## Three situations of hypnosis schools.

The three schools described here don't exist. They resemble the ones I prefer to work with: a small team, several sessions a year, a local reputation.

### A school carried by its founder

Lots of people know his name; few find the school's website.

1. Clearly link the founder's name to the school, on the website and on the Google Business Profile.
2. Create a page for each other trainer on the team.
3. Bring onto the website the content published until now only on social media.

### A full introduction, a half-empty course

Students come for a weekend and don't continue.

1. Show the rest of the path on the introduction page, with dates and fees.
2. Write a page explaining what each level allows and doesn't allow.
3. Send the next level's calendar to each participant after the workshop.

### A school missing from the map

On its town's name, Google shows three practices and no school.

1. Fix the category and description of the Google Business Profile.
2. Add photos of the room and announce each session on the profile.
3. Ask every student for a review at the end of each level.

In practice

## What you get.

- One page per training level, with the full path and its cost
- A complete Google Business Profile for each place where you teach
- One page per trainer, written with them
- A list of passages to fix about the practice, the profession and the qualification

Pricing

## How much does an SEO consultant cost?

The fee depends on four things. I give you a precise amount after a free first thirty-minute conversation.

- The size of the site: ten pages or ten thousand
- The competition on your queries
- What you can do in-house, and what needs producing for you
- The pace you want

FAQ

## SEO and hypnosis schools: your questions.

Should we use the word “hypnotherapist” on the website?

It's the word people type, and ignoring it cuts you off from those searches. Using it does call for caution, though, and I don't decide for you. You choose the term your school stands behind, and I build the page so it answers the search without implying a qualification you don't award.

Which schools do you work with?

Established schools, preferably those with turnover of around €300,000 to €400,000 a year, with several sessions and a few trainers. At that level, the website should become a regular source of enrolments. I also say so when a school is too young for this kind of support.

Our competitors promise a lot. Are we at a disadvantage by staying sober?

In the short term, a promise attracts clicks. Over time, Google is stricter with pages that make unproven claims on these topics, and disappointed students' reviews stay visible. A sober school builds a reputation that ads can't replace. That's an observation from the field, not a guarantee.

Can we show sessions on video?

Yes, if the people filmed have given their consent and the video shows a learning exercise, not a demonstration of results. I'd advise adding a text explaining what the student is learning.

How do we stand apart from stage hypnosis?

By writing it down. The page title, the first sentence and the description visible in Google state that you train practitioners. That cuts pointless visits and helps Google rank you for the right searches.

What should go on the qualification and affiliations page?

Only what is accurate today. I name no organisation and I don't interpret the real recognition of your qualification. You send me the verified information and I present it simply, with the date it was last updated.

And for funding?

The page says which current funding schemes your school accepts and whether you hold the certification required to access them. It gives the name of the person who handles applications. I don't write any funding conditions myself; these rules change too often.

Our trainers have a following on social media. Is that enough?

It gets your trainers known, and that's useful. But the person looking for a school in their town goes through Google, and what you publish on a social network doesn't belong to you. I help you get your important content onto your website.

How long before we see enrolments?

The Google Business Profile often responds within a few weeks if it was incomplete. Level pages take several months to rank. The student's own decision time adds to that. So I measure results session after session, without announcing a date.

What do you know about teaching?

I train professionals in SEO and GEO myself, and I've co-written four books about my work. So I know the questions people ask themselves before paying for a course. On hypnosis, I have no opinion to give: I stick to what you teach and what you can prove.
